From 1 January 2023, the new Regulation (EU) 2022/1393 on THC limits in food comes into force throughout Europe.
The THC limit in the field has gone from 0.2% to 0.3%
In October 2020, the European Parliament voted in favor of restoring the THC limit in the field from 0.2% to 0.3%; on 24 November 2021, the final proposal was voted on, which came into force on 1 January 2023. This resolution opens up new scenarios both for the possibility of registering new varieties and for the production, import and export of raw materials intended for different types of industry.

In France, light cannabis is legal thanks to a ruling

“Exploit the entire hemp plant for its economic and social potential,” says the UN
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), a UN agency, has released a special report on industrial hemp, which focuses on how developing economies can “exploit its economic and social potential.”
According to the UNCTAD report, “a whole-plant approach, based on the exploitation of all parts of the plant, should be at the heart of any sectoral development strategy”. “This approach could facilitate the creation of production chains that can contribute to the growth of rural areas, manufacturing and food processing”.
